BLOODY HOOKER BANG BANG: Indy Sexploitation that Knows How to Have Fun

So you wanna be a hooker? It ain't that hard right? If you wanna know just how hard it can get (no reference to boners implied) then take a gander at Bloody Hooker Bang Bang. This movie whose title plays off Chitty Chitty Bang Bang or maybe even Shitty Chicken Gang Bang is part of The Collective Volume 4, an anthology of ten minute horror shorts from ten different indy filmmakers based around a similar theme. Bloody Hooker Bang Bang comes from Volume 4 whose theme is Emotions.

Bloody Hooker Bang Bang, directed by Jakob Bilinski, is the follow up short to David Paul Bonnell's film, Happy Hooker Bang Bang. So you can get a better feel for the plot of these two features here's synopsis from both films.

SYNOPSIS FOR HAPPY HOOKER BANG BANG:
The setup to the film is that a girl (Envy) becomes jealous of her roomate (Desire), a hooker. Envy pretends to be her for a night and when responding to an escort request, finds herself at the mercy of psychopathic inbreds who are the sons of a criminal family that rules the small corrupt town.

SYNOPSIS FOR BLOODY HOOKER BANG BANG:
Two blood-soaked ladies of the night must navigate their way to safety while being pursued by a murderous family of psychopathic inbreds with a score to settle. With the help of a slick bionic pimp named Silky, they will prove that love can overcome shame, and there are few things fiercer than a whore scorned.

So in the first part, a hooker is born and in its sequel, the hookers take aim and get fight the world of gangland crime. This is starting to sound like a Foxy Brown flick, but this film doesn't need Pam Grier.

These two shorts aren't for everyone. You'll have to enjoy some pretty intentionally cheesy dialogue and action sequences to make it through them. That being said, Grindhouse style film fans will get a kick at the retro feel of these two pictures. That's not saying that either film has succumbed to the recenent trend of scratching up, aging or intentionally making dusty the digital print. Bloody Hooker Bang Bang is a modern production that takes elements from the films of the early 80's and late 70's. The anti-heros are in front of the lens once again. With this thought in mind you should try to appreciate and laugh at some of the amateurish effects work, the zany characterization and the occasional "reel missing".

It's nice to see an actor with a chainsaw, chain and modified Hannibal Lector mask. Rage is obviously the emotional theme of Bloody Hooker Bang Bang as becomes obvious by our protagonist being ordered to face the rage of Jumbo. It's a good over the top effort complete ludicrous exploding heads, with borderline to overt exploitative lesbianism (that was actually quite a surprise) and costuming that must be seen to be believed. You know what I love about this movie? The hookers are bloody, and it's the best kind of modern fake blood. It's not the gorgeous Crayola red paint blood of the H.G. Lewis days, but it's something you might find at your favorite ice cream parlor.

Am I allowed to say that I got a lil' indy star crush on Kristine Renee Farley in the role of Desire/Kate? The role is funny and sexy. Sidney Shripka complements her performance well and plays the innocent wannabe hooker turned bad ass savior of the weak with a sexitude. Aric Dylan as Jumbo... CLASSIC.

I wanna thank Jakob Bilinski for letting me take a look at this. It proves that you can have sexuality in a film, still keep it dirty but overall focus on entertaining your audience and having fun. It won't please everyone, but these guys put in the time. Take a gander and laugh a little will ya!
