THE CONJURING Blu-ray Giveaway!!!

I can say without a doubt that The Conjuring is the scariest movie I have seen this year. I'm not just saying that because we've got a giveaway featuring the Blu-ray disc coming out tomorrow. I'm saying that because I was honestly frightened in the theater and on the way home from the theater. My full review of this amazing disc will be coming soon, but I'd almost say you don't need to read it. You just need to own it. Here's how we play this giveaway.

Here's what I want you to do. Play with the GIFs below and post your favorite freaky fact into the comments section below for an entry to win (only entry per person). Make sure to include your email address, so we can let you know that you've one. Also go like our Facebook page HERE. The winner will be selected this Thursday, October 24th (my birthday).

Each household is only eligible to win 1 The Conjuring Blu-ray via blog reviews and giveaways. Only one entrant per mailing address per giveaway. If you have won the same prize on another blog, you will not be eligible to win it again. Winner is subject to eligibility verification.

Thanks for participating. To the winner... if you're interested in writing a review after you watch it, I'd be glad to work with you to post it.

The Conjuring 5 Things to know… INTERACTIVE GIFS! 1) The Conjuring is directed by the acclaimed James Wan, the Australian-born director of the fright-fests Insidious and the Saw series. His Twitter handle is @CreepyPuppet. Say no more.

2) The Conjuring has been given an “R” rating by the MPAA. Not because of blood, gore, or violence, but simply because it’s just so scary from start to finish!
3) The Conjuring’s cast and crew experienced creepy events during filming. Scratches appeared out of nowhere on Vera Farmiga’s computer soon after she agreed to act in the movie, the crew were routinely woken by something in the “witching hour” between 3 and 4AM, and the real-life Carolyn Perron fell and broke her hip while visiting the set.
 4) The Rhode Island farmhouse where The Conjuring is set once belonged to an accused witch, Bathsheba, who tried to sacrifice her children to the devil and killed herself in 1863.
 5) Hold your applause! The Conjuring will make you terrified to clap! Whether it’s playing a traditional game of hide-and-seek by following the clapping sounds like the mother and daughter in the movie, or being terrorized by ghostly claps in different rooms of the haunted farmhouse, these claps throughout the movie will

  6. Definitely number 2. I love that the MPAA was like "Uhhh fuck that shit, that's getting an R because half of this room has to change their underwear now."

  7. I'm not sure if you meant which fact is our favorite among the 5 above or just a fact we heard about this movie.

If I have to choose from here I definitely have to choose number 2 because of how bad ass that is. This movie was so scary, they think anyone under 17 won't be able to handle it.

If it's any fact that has to do with this movie then I'm going to choose this one. I'm not sure if you knew this but the Perron family stayed for another NINE YEARS after the events of the film! Fuck that!

  8. The Annabelle doll is based from a true story and it is actually a Raggedy Ann doll.

I also like your fun fact # 3 Happy birthday!

Love that fact...it's a rarity in modern horror, really, a genre wherein filmmakers often resort to easy gross outs over well crafted scares.

Looking forward to the next cinematic offering about the Warrens, rumored to be the creepy, controversial Enfield Poltergeist.

    Happy Birthday!

  13. Fact #3 is my fav. Also, George Lutz of Amityville Horror fame was a drunk who couldn't afford to pay his mortgage. He was working with the attorneys of the actual Amityville house murderer to say he heard evil spirits talking to him too. He was hoping they'd pay for his house.

This not only makes for a great backstory, but adds a horror-in-the-real-world element when just after the movie's release, vandals broke the Bathsheba tombstone that the Perrons restored and erected. Whatever you believe about the supernatural, why even take the chance?

  21. If what you're wanting is the freaky fact I liked best that's listed, the duh answer is #3! The MPAA rating is always bullshit anyway but events happening to the cast while filming, now that's some freaky shit. Freaky fact not listed is the true tale of the Annabelle doll. As soon as the movie began I saw they were telling Annabelle's tale and that has always scared the hell out of me. I have a friend who went to Lorraine Warren's house last month on a tour/meet & greet and pictures that he took of stuff close to the Annabelle doll ended up sideways so she's just visible in frame even though he had his camera straight the whole time. That demon demanded notice!
