HolidazeBlog Halloween Challenge Day 12: Favorite 70's Horror

My favorite 1970's Horror movie has to be the Amicus version of Tales from the Crypt. It's so difficult to choose something like this. I went through The Abominable Dr. Phibes, Last House on the Left, The Legend of Hell House... Dawn of the Dead... It's really more like a top 20 list of 1970s Horror movies that rotate in and of rotation. Maybe some day I'll compile a list and set the whole thing in stone (until the next time I change it).

Until then I adore Tales from the Crypt. I love each of the stories, the effects work, the cast. I mean I'm a fan of the EC Comics anyway. This is just the natural extension of that love. I enjoy the sequel, The Vault of Horror as well. I suppose my love for anthology horror started with Creepshow, but it continued as a I began to realize that portmanteau Horror was a full fledged phenomenon in the 70s.
I don't know which segment is my favorite. I love them all equally, but And All Through the House is very strong. I still think Poetic Justice is the one that has the best karmic appeal. It's the segment that got me into this movie, a still frame image of Cushing as zombie in An Album of Modern Horror started me on the hunt to see this movie before the internet made it easy.

For the record, asking a Horror movie nut to consolidate down to a single favorite Horror movie for any topic is complete torture. I can't believe I have to do this several more times during this challenge.
