Let's talk about a great film talent that has been creeping up on the Horror industry. Now he's been in plain site for years as one of my favorite professional Horror artists creating covers for Scream Factory Blu-ray releases and HorrorHound magazine (to which I will always subscribe), but gradually Nathan Thomas Milliner has been making his proficiency as a Director known. His most recent short film prequel to the Nightmare on Elm Street series, The Confession of Fred Krueger, was an internet sensation and proof that there was plenty of room left in the NOES franchise for new ideas for those who would be willing to give filmmakers with vision a chance.
Milliner's new feature length release, A Wish for the Dead, is hitting Blu-ray and DVD March 22nd, and boy am I excited. The cover artwork has throwback qualities that are very enticing, designed by the Director himself. The story sounds complex with chance for interesting characters and plenty of scares. Legless Corpse Films has a history of finding unique independent Horror projects, and this appears to be one of them.
Let's support a hardworking talent in the Horror industry, not just as a beloved cover artist but as a filmmaker ready to challenge the industry with fresh ideas. Full release below from Legless with details on purchase and release notes. Also check out the trailer below to get a feeling for the movie. Looks to have strong practical effects, music that reminds me of the score from 28 Days Later and naked people attacking people in the dark. It's got me curious. We'll have a review up soon as well as an interview with Nathan Thomas Milliner himself.
