GODS OF EGYPT Headed to Home Video Courtesy of Lionsgate

The only thing I asked myself as I watched the trailer for Gods of Egypt was, "will this help my daughter pass her Social Studies test". As you know I'm not a huge fan of CG driven action films. It takes quite a bit to help me get past the video game feel. There has to be a few actors that catch my eye (which Gods of Egypt has). There has to be a story that can prop up the fake looking baddies (not sure it's there) and I need feel like it moves genre films forward in some way unless its a pure popcorn movie. I'm not sure I have a pure popcorn movie, but it has that dumbed down 300 feel. I may be able to get into that for a bit. I also enjoy hearing the sound of Geoffrey Rush's voice in anything, so at least for a small portion of the movie, I'll be happy.

I have not heard the fondest opinions of the picture from several friends who saw it theatrically. Friends I trust. Hopefully I'll know soon enough and give you the low down.
