Diablo 4 Legendary Aspects are gear bonuses that activate under certain conditions. All legendary-quality items have an Aspect already imprinted on them, which is the effect marked by a star and written in orange on your gear tooltip. You can also make your own at the Occultist once you hit level 25.

There are different categories of Aspects too, and these will determine which gear slots they can be found on. You will never find a Defensive Aspect on a weapon, for example. This is important if you plan to attempt finding a particular aspect by buying gear from the Curiousities vendor.

  • Offensive: Weapons, gloves, rings, amulets
  • Defensive: Helms, chest, pants, shields, amulets
  • Resource: Rings only
  • Utility: Helms, chest, boots, gloves, amulets
  • Mobility: Boots, amulets

There are a ton of aspects in Diablo 4, so we've compiled a list of the best general aspects and the best for each class below. Most of the best aspects per class you'll find featured in our recommended builds for that class which you can find in these detailed guides:

How to extract and equip aspects

Once you've earned an aspect in a dungeon, it will be added to your Codex of Power and you can equip it to a piece of gear at the Occultist. That same vendor will help you extract aspects from legendaries you find as loot. For a lot more info on the rules and limitations of extracting aspects, check out our guide to crafting legendary gear.

How many legendary aspects are there?

There are a lot of legendary aspects in Diablo 4, many of which you can only find as random drops or by buying gear from the Curiousities vendor. We've listed a combination of both here, so be sure to reference our full list of Diablo 4 dungeons to find out exactly where each one is located.
