One of the most exciting things about upcoming RPG co-op shooter Outriders is the fact that it’s set on a distant alien world covered in jawdropping scenery and spectacular environments. Jagged peaks that house frozen caves with shimmering ice formations, sweltering jungles where you can practically feel the mosquitoes swimming around in the rivulets of your sweat, and enemies baying for your blood.

Outriders is a real looker, so you’ll want to know that your PC is up to the task. See the video below to find out everything you need to know about the system requirements for Outriders, as well as some of the cutting-edge graphics settings that you’ll get to twiddle around with to get the most out of your time on the alien planet of Enoch.

If you just want the raw data about how well you can expect your PC to run Outriders, then here’s the lowdown.

Note that these requirements are geared towards playing at a silky 60fps. Developer People Can Fly has been fine-tuning the game to maintain consistent frame rates, so as long as you meet those requirements you should be in for a smooth ride.

The devs are determined for a healthy community to grow around Outriders, with the game’s launch in April set to just be the start of a long journey filled with expansions, events and adventure. So in the interest of letting you play with whoever in the world you want, Outriders will feature full crossplay between PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC and Google Stadia.

Outriders will support HDR for those with 4K TVs, ultra widescreen resolutions, as well as some of the latest Nvidia graphics technologies. These include DLSS, which uses AI learning to upscale resolutions in such a way that can boost your frame rates by up to 30%, as well as Nvidia Ansel, which you can use to take professional-looking screenshots of your exploits to share with the world.

Helping you maintain those all-important frame rates will be Dynamic Resolution Scaling (DRS), which lets you set a percentage of your optimal resolution to which the game will automatically decrease during more graphics-intensive sequences. You’ll barely notice your resolution dipping by 10-20%, but will definitely feel those performance gains.

So now that you know what kind of graphical demands you’re dealing with for Outriders, you should be ready to enter the fray. The full game launches 1 April (no joke!) on Steam, Epic Games Store, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X. It’s time to start sifting through your friends lists to decide which two you’ll want to join you on this long-awaited co-op adventure, or head in solo and make new allies in the mysterious world of Enoch.
