Soundtrack to Shapelier Thighs: New Year's Resolution Workout Mix of Dr. TERROR

New Year’s Resolution time. On New Year’s Day I updated everyone on my horror challenge resolutions that I will try to tackle this year. Three daunting tasks, but at the end of it all, I should be one well educated horror fan. To recap for those of you who haven’t been following along they will be as follows:

A challenge to watch every gialli every made (gialli is the plural of giallo which are murder mystery detective stories typically featuring copious amounts of nudity, blood and groovy music).

A challenge to watch every horror movie from 1980, my birth year. This would be movies I haven’t seen from said year.

A challenge to watch every movie from the Video Nasty list. This would be movies I haven’t seen from this list; the list contains movies that were disallowed under the Video Recording Act of 1984 in the UK. It’s a tremendous list of classic awesome.

In addition to that list, I’m also making some non-horror strides. I need to lose about 40 lbs. I need to stop being a dick. I need to make a short movie (any length… that’s what she said). I need to write one blog a day.

In thinking about my personal goals I though that many of you might have a similar weight loss goal. Many of you would be hitting the gym or out running. Many of you were going to need fresh ideas for workout music! Below I have compiled a list of songs that I listen to while working out. It’s an eclectic hodge podge of songs and albums and there really is no rhyme or reason to the whole thing, but I’ll attempt to make some semblance of reason from it. Add these to your own play list and let’s live to write another blog another day (most available on YOUTUBE to sample).

  1. Dragonforce – “Valley of the Damned” and “Black Fire”
  2. Rob Zombie – “What?”
  3. Leatherface (Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part III) Soundtrack
  4. The Acacia Strain – “The Hills Have Eyes”
  5. Amon Amarth - “War of the Gods”
  6. Extreme - “Play With Me”
  7. Chevelle – Vena Sera album
  8. Children of Bodom – Hate Crew Deathroll album
  9. Iron Maiden – “Somewhere in Time” and “Wasted Years”
  10. Kvelertak – “Mjod”
  11. The Last House in the Woods Original Soundtrack (self compiled)
  12. Machine Head - Unto the Locust album
  13. The Misfits – Walk Among Us album
  14. Pantera – Official Live – 101 Proof album
  15. Pantera – “The Great Southern Trend Kill”
  16. Powerman 5000 – Transmission album
  17. Rammstein – “Pussy”
  18. Rammstein – Mutter album
  19. Slipknot – Iowa album
  20. Slipknot – All Hope is Gone album
  21. White Zombie – “Super-Charger Heaven”
  22. My Bloody Mixtape (a special mix made for Exhumed Films 24 Hour Horrothon prep... contains samples and music from movies featured at Exhumed Films showings. It's random and upbeat. I especially love the Motley Crue song from Demons). - If interested contact grindhousehorror@gmail.com and I'll see if I can help you locate it.

Have a killer workout (maybe ask Linnea Quigley for some tips).

-Dr. TERROR
