NEW RELEASE UDPATE: Trailer for THE GUEST, Out September 17th

The Guest, the upcoming picture from Adam Wingard, has been getting some hot looks from all the right people. Wingard and Barret, the team responsible for bringing us You're Next (one of my favorite releases of 2013) are working together again and this time on a movie that is not an out and out horror picture, but a movie that kind of, sort of reminds me of The Stepfather with a little less serial killer and a whole lot more, tall dark and rebelious.

Today the trailer droppped on Yahoo Movies, and if it isnt' exciting, I'm not sure what is. It's a little sexy, sort of creepy, definitely thrilling and overly mysterious for a movie that seems to take place in the broad day light. If the movie is even half as as good as the the trailer, we're getting a great release September 17th.
Full release notes from Picturehouse:

Directed by Adam Wingard
Written by Simon Barrett
Starring Dan Stevens, Maika Monroe, Leland Orser, Sheila Kelley, Brendan Meyer and Lance Reddick

From the director of YOU’RE NEXT and featuring a standout, badass performance from Dan Stevens (“Downton Abbey”), comes THE GUEST: a tense, action-packed and unpredictable film like everything and nothing you've ever seen before. Empire Magazine called it "a demented action-horror hybrid of sci-fi conspiracy thriller and gore-fest", and Vanity Fair said, “THE GUEST is big, it’s bold, it’s badass, full of flavor Hollywood wishes it could pour over its vanilla blockbusters.”

Synopsis:

A soldier (Dan Stevens) introduces himself to the Peterson family, claiming to be a friend of their son who died in action. After the young man is welcomed into their home, a series of accidental deaths seem to be connected to his presence.

PictureHouse will release THE GUEST in theaters September 17, 2014.
