NEW RELEASE UPDATE: Delivery: The Beast Within Hitting DVD and Digital HD September 30th

The pregnancy horror continues and continues and continues. Delivery: The Beast Within is the next in a series of moves that feature supernatural prego-isms. This subgenre is so hit or miss, I'm not sure I can even accurately comment on these movie or their trailers anymore. That's not to say I won't keep an open mind while reviewing, but clearly the industry has decided on a focus.

Of course my preference is for It's Alive and the first sequel. This is the first outing for Brian Netto and we wish him luck. Let's hope the leads can do their job of making us feel an amazing amount of sympathy for their plight. Keep the CG to a minimum guys.

When you watch the trailer and notice that there will be multiple camera included perspective (found footage) you'll realize that this is a two for one deal in the popular horror marketing playbook for 2014.

Delivers Pure Terror On DVD and Digital HD September 30

A jaw-dropping intense thriller with a “shocking, can’t-believe-I-saw-that conclusion” (, Delivery: The Beast Within terrifies on DVD and digital HD September 30 from Cinedigm (NASDAQ: CIDM) and The Collective. Blending found footage and reality show genres, the nightmarish feature that is “so intense, so frightening, and so real” (Aint It Cool News) marks the directorial debut of Brian Netto, who also co-wrote the film with producer Adam Schindler, and is “bolstered by outstanding performances by its two leads,” (IndieWire) Laurel Vail and Danny Barclay.

Delivery: The Beast Within follows Kyle (Barclay) and Rachel Massy (Vail), a young couple who agrees to document their first pregnancy for a new reality show. The family begins to unravel when the cameras capture a series of unexplained events, leading Rachel to believe that a malicious spirit has possessed their unborn child. After production is abandoned, a first hand account of the tragic, and possibly supernatural, story is told through the show’s un-aired footage and testimonials from friends, family and crew members.
