MANHUNTER Coming to Blu-ray May 24th from Scream Factory

After watching Silence of the Lambs, I realized that that movie was based on a book by Thomas Harris. I went to the library and as I was about to order the book on interlibrary loan I realized that there were several other titles available by Harris. The world of Hannibal Lecktor was about to become open to me. I read Red Dragon and Silence of the Lamb as well as Black Sunday. Then I realized that they had ALREADY MADE Red Dragon into a movie. Manhunter. Furthermore with the popularity of Silence of the Lambs, WPIX actually showed it, and I had the chance to enjoy it.

I love the characters and the cast even though it is considered to an inferior movie to Silence of the Lambs by comparison. I've always had a special place in my heart from Manhunter and in turn the song Inagaddadavida by Iron Butterfly (with or without the drum solo). In some ways I ever prefer Manhunter to Silence (though not because of the portrayal of Lecktor).

Scream Factory is giving this one the works for a release that appears to be maxed out on content. Very impressive. Check out the full release notes from Scream Factory below and get ready to enjoy it May 24th.

  1. I, too, am a HUGE Manhunter fan. Dolarhyde just fascinates me to no end. I probably enjoy Red Dragon just as much...and hell, even season three of TV's Hannibal (all 3 seasons, really).
